Basin Area Chamber Happenings: by Barbara Anne
Lilac Day is done for this year. Whew! Thank you again to all that made these things happen.
Special thanks to our sponsors: Security State Bank, Midway Clinic/South Big Horn County Hospital,
TCT, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Awanas and Design Time. Of course, we have to recognize Howie,
Lorraine & the crew at the Fairgrounds for all their help. As well as the Group Home girls whom
we can always count on.
Welcome to the two newest chamber members. We are so happy to officially have The American Legion in the fold.
They do so much for the community, including the Memorial Day Services, Color Guard duty at various events,
and the restoration of the cannons. Most importantly, they served our country honorably. Thanks gents.
They met the first Tuesday of each month, 7 pm, at the chamber. If you are a Vet, young or old, please consider joining them.
Our other new member is Design Time. Owner Kristi Bollig has years of experience in graphic design, page layout and printing.
Prior to opening Design Time, Kristi has worked at print shops and a newspaper. She has been State recognized and awarded design,
ads, and page layouts. From billboards to businesses card’s it’s “your job done your way.” You may reach Kristi at bollig@tctwest.net or at 568-2870.
Our web site basincc.com is getting active. We are getting hits from all over the world. Total hits since May 14 is 465.
We’ve had hits from 50-60% of the States. Hits from other countries include the Netherlands, Australia, China,
Saudi Arabia, Korea, & Russia. The majority of the hits are coming from our link to wyomingbusiness.org.
Joyce Kitchell is the new chamber VP after Steva Dooley resigned. We will miss Steva, yet understand that she was stretched too thin with all she is active in. This doesn’t mean she is off the hook completely!
Volunteers: Like every organization we need volunteers. People to help with events AND to give us new ideas and suggestions.
We want to be a dynamic and proactive chamber. To do so, we need you.
Monthly Meetings: The first Thursday of each month is the regular meeting. It starts at noon and lunch is provided.
You don't have to be a member to come.
To save time, we try to mail out the minutes and the financial report a few days before the meeting so you have time to review it. Please join us!
Recycling: To become a more GREEN not GREENE chamber we are working with the town of Basin and Jim Morris to create attractive collection points for aluminum cans.
We hope to have a minimum of 3 dumpsters located throughout the town. Currently there is a dumpster behind the chamber.
The chamber does receive a portion of the money. Make our town a green place and bring on the cans
